Academic Programs

Focuses on in-depth study of a selection of Qur’aanic sciences, including tajweed and qiraa’aat (variant recitations). Each program aims to develop students’ understanding and recitation skills.

Beginner Course

At this stage, students will learn and apply major principles for reading the Qur’aan, gradually increasing in proficiency until they are able to recite from the mus-haf smoothly and independently. It has three phases or sections, each a minimum of one year.

Intermediate Course

This stage is designed for sisters who are strong independent reciters of the Qur’aan, with minimum knowledge of tajweed. Students will learn points of articulation of the letters and core tajweed rules following the 3-book “Tajweed Rules of the Qur’aan” series by Kareema Carol Czerepinski.

Advanced Course

At this stage, students will learn and apply major principles for reading the Qur’aan, gradually increasing in proficiency until they are able to recite from the mus-haf smoothly and independently. It has five phases or sections.

Graduate Program Courses

The graduate program at UMMI offers students the opportunity to pursue studies in the ten qiraa’aat. Students will study the principles of the qiraa’aat science, as well as the rules and recitation for each chain, gradually attaining certification in every transmission.

Note: Certain chains may be studied simultaneously such as the As-haab Al Tawassut (Ibn Aamir, Aasim, Al Kisaa’i, and Khalaf) and As-haab Al Sillah (Ibn Katheer, Abu Ja’far, and Qaaloon), at institute discretion.

Only the best students will be selected for this program and recruited for the assessment and application process.

Private Tilaawah and ABI

This program accommodates a range of students, beginning with those not yet proficient in reading and or unable to memorize independently to students who are advanced reciters of the Qur’aan. The private, 30-minute sessions are a requirement for Nooraaniyyah or Tajweed courses however sessions may also be registered for independently.

Note: Private classes may also include or be requested for academic studies, as well.

Island Programs

The Island Program is a selection of independent courses and or collaborations with other salafi schools or organizations that are designed for a time period of 2+months of study. These courses may be taken in tandem with the regular semester courses or under an independent registration. Students will be made aware of a select course launching via the school’s social media however pre-registration may be completed online to secure a spot on the waiting list.

Certification Program

Certifications Program offers Ijaazah and Shahaadatul Ijaadah for advanced Qur’aanic mastery. Ijaazah denotes proficiency in recitation and the authority to teach the Qur’aan, while Shahaadatul Ijaadah recognizes exceptional recitation skills. Both certifications highlight our commitment to cultivating skilled scholars and educators.
