Al Maqtoo’ and Al Mawsool (Reflection)

Al Maqtoo’ and Al Mawsool (Reflection)

Alhamdulillah I have learned many things from studying the science of Tajweed however I had also wondered about words like عما or عم  but never asked why these words are spelled this way or what they meant. Now that I’m studying the chapter of Maqtoo and Mawsool this is starting to become clear to me. Learning that word constructions are sometimes written joined (mawsool), has further enlightened my understanding while reciting the Qur’aan, alhamdulillaah.

One science that interconnects with the topic of maqtoo’ and mawsool is noon saakinah rules, specifically al idghaam. Sometimes, words in which idghaam is applied in pronunciation can still be written separately (maqtoo) or vice versa.

I’m excited to learn all that I can in this subject and I would love to be able to teach everything that I have learned from my studying over the years, inshaaAllaah. It has been a very long road for me here at UMMI but I have learned so much and I would love to continue my memorization, studies and then teach once I have completed the classes, inshaAllah.
