All praise is due to Allaah, the Lord of all that exists. May the salutations and peace of Allaah be upon His messenger, Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم), his family and all of his Companions (رضوان الله عليهم).
Learning and educating the ummah in the sciences of Qur’aan is a wonderful privilege and a great responsibility. Rather, it is the best position that one can aspire towards as stated by the prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم),
“The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur’aan and teaches it.” (Bukhaaree)
This hadeeth is an evidence for the virtue of learning the Qur’aan which incorporates learning the proper pronunciation of the words as well as the meanings of the verses. Allaah says,
“(This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.” (38:29)
It is recorded in Sahih Muslim that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) said:
“The Qur’an and its people, those who used to act upon it in the world, will be brought on the Day of Judgement. However, Sooratul-Baqarah and Soorah Aali Imraan will precede them and argue in favour of those who memorised and recited these soorahs (in this life).”
Our online campus is only a tool that will, in-shaaAllaah, aid you in perfecting your recitation thus providing ease in pondering the meanings of the Qur’aan and acting upon it by His Grace and Permission of Allaah. We are honored to spend this semester with everyone working towards this goal. May Allaah make all of us from the true people of the Qur’aan and allow us to elevate in levels in this World and the Next, aameen.
The Institute’s Ijaazah or Certification program features dedicated instructors, working closely with faculty to foster the quality of their recitation and expand the breadth of their comprehension via internships and extended dialogues between peers, teachers, and analysts. The vision of UMMI and ABI is to aid students in memorizing the entire Qur’aan accurately with a precise and clear recitation. As Allaah says: “And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?” (Al-Qamar: 17) And Allaah says: “Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style”.
(Al-Muzzammil: 4) We hope that students who graduate from UMMI and ABI will recite the Qur’aan with Tajweed as it was revealed and implement its legislation according to the way of the salaf as saalih (righteous predecessors) “Because this (Qur’an) was revealed to us by Allah in this form And exactly like this (with Tajweed) it reached us” (Matn Al Jazariyyah)
